Akio Sakurai has a “whole lotta love” for Jimmy Page, the lead guitarist and founder of legendary British rockers Led Zeppelin.
If devout Christians ask “What would J.C. do?”, Sakurai ponders: “What would J.P. do?” The Japanese musician has spent literally decades seeking to look, sound and perform exactly like Page did at various points in his fabled career. Sakurai doesn’t so much “impersonate” Jimmy Page as a re-enactor, but strives to accurately channel and express the English rocker’s sound, look and vibe for contemporary audiences.
